Does it cost money to jam at Red House?
All the sessions described above are part of Red House membership. If you're not a member, so can always buy a session pass to check it out.

Red House isn't free, but compared to other music programs, it's a hella deal. We've even run the numbers for you.

Will there be anybody else my age at Red House?
Red House attracts a wide variety of age groups - from ages 6 through 66. Most evening sessions are roughly 80% adults, and most Rock and Metal Shop sessions are primarily teens and tweens. Red House is open to all ages at all times.

What if I'm a really bad musician?
Red House offers jam sessions for a wide variety of skill levels, and we'd be happy to recommend that best ones for you. In general, musicians should be able to play complete songs at an advanced beginner levels to get the most out of membership. Beginners should consider private or group instruction at Red House. The ability to read standard music notation is NOT required.

Is Red House just for guitarists?
It's true that guitar is our most popular instrument, but Red House also has vocalists, bassists, drummers, horn players, harp players and keyboardists as members. And the best news about playing something other than guitar is that all the guitar players will want you to be in their bands!
Do I have to get up on stage? Do I have to solo?
Absolutely not! We'll try to give you plenty of encouragement, but there's no requirements if youÕre not comfortable. You can still get a lot out Red House sessions by playing along from your seat, especially if you bring a headphone-based amp.

Why should I pay for a Red House jam when I can go to a bar jam for free?
Coming to a Red House session typically erases this question pretty quickly. Red House is about having fun and developing as a player, without the requirement to entertain the crowd. Players exchange ideas, and the host helps everyone improve their chops. We also start earlier, and are open to all ages. You'll find that it's an entirely different animal than a bar.
What should I bring?
Bring your own guitar, bass or drum sticks. Red House supplies the amps, keyboards, drum kits, cables and PA gear. You're welcome to bring in more of your own gear if you'd like, assuming you can still get on and off stage quickly.
