SCALE INTERVALS.
Understanding a riff is all about understanding scale intervals. We'll tell you what they are, and how to listen for them - all within the context of the pentatonic scale. ...and we'll make it fun.

ESSENTIAL ELECTRIC GUITAR TECHNIQUES.
That amp adds a whole new dimension to your playing - so the same ole' open chords don't work so well anymore! You'll learn about muting, triads, power chords, hammers and slurs. Plus, we'll show you what some distortion and delay will do for you.

ESSENTIAL RIFFS.
Riffs features songs by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Green Day, The Police and more.

Students should be familiar with the basic open chords - including A, Am, C, D, E, Em and G - and be able to switch between them. Riffs is open to all ages. Students should bring their own guitars - preferrably electric.
